Affiliate disclosure
Plain English, at the length the FTC asks for: we earn a commission when you buy through our links, and here is exactly how that works.

The short version
What you need to know
Rideontoy Guide is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
When you click a buy link on this site and purchase something, Amazon pays us a percentage of the sale. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as if you had gone to Amazon directly.
Every link that earns us money is labeled #ad where it appears and marked rel="sponsored nofollow" in the page code, per Google’s link-spam policy and the FTC’s endorsement guidance.
How links work
What happens when you click
Buy links on this site route through /go/ on our own domain, which then redirects you to Amazon with our tracking ID attached. We use that intermediate step for two reasons: it lets us swap a product’s destination in one place if a listing moves, and it lets us see which pages actually send people to buy.
The redirect is a temporary one, carries noindex, and is excluded from our sitemap. Your destination is always the real Amazon product page.
Retailers
Who we link to
Amazon, and currently only Amazon. Every buy link on this site goes to Amazon.com under the Amazon Associates program.
We may add other retailers in future where doing so is better for the buyer — a brand-direct store with better availability or warranty, for example. If we do, those links will be disclosed in exactly the same way, and we will not add one simply because it pays more. Where a manufacturer’s own site is cited as the source for a specification, that is a plain reference link and earns us nothing.
The important part
How this does not affect the rankings
This is the part that matters, so here is the concrete version rather than a reassurance.
The rubric is published. The scoring criteria, their priority order and what each metric means are on how we pick. Commission rate is not among them. The top three priorities are whether the product fits the child, whether it is safe for that age, and how much the manufacturer publishes.
We recommend against products in their own entries. Every product on this site has a “what doesn’t” list, and on several it is longer and sharper than the pros. We have products here whose main criticism is that the seller will not state the weight limit, which is a reason not to buy them.
We name cheaper rivals as better buys. Several roundups conclude that a less expensive product is the right purchase, and one of our model reviews ends by pointing readers at a better-documented alternative.
We talk people out of purchases. The motor upgrade page argues most readers should buy a battery instead. The age pages tell you not to buy up a bracket. The balance bike comparison says a bike may be the better purchase than anything we earn on.
None of that maximizes revenue. All of it is the answer we would give a friend, which is the only standard that makes a buyer’s guide worth reading.
Prices
Why prices here are dated
Amazon prices change constantly, and a review site showing a price from three months ago is misleading even where it is not deliberate.
So no price is written into a page here. Prices come from Amazon at the time of our last check and carry that date. If the check stops running, prices older than 48 hours disappear and the page shows “check price” rather than a stale number. The price you pay is always whatever Amazon is charging when you arrive.
Images
Product images
Product photographs on this site are provided by Amazon through their official API and are served from Amazon’s own servers. They appear only alongside links to that product on Amazon, as the Amazon Associates terms require. We do not scrape, re-host or alter manufacturer imagery.
Independence
No manufacturer relationships
No manufacturer or retailer has paid for coverage here, been shown a page in advance, or had any input into a score. We accept no free products. We are not affiliated with Fisher-Price, Power Wheels, Peg Perego, Kid Trax, Radio Flyer, Razor, Best Choice Products or any other brand named on this site; brand names are used for identification only.
Questions
If anything here is unclear
Ask. If you think a disclosure on this site is inadequate or a link is not properly labeled, that is worth telling us and we will fix it. Contact us here or email contact@rideontoyguide.com.
