Rideontoy Guide is an independent editorial buyer’s guide. The content is our opinion and analysis, based on manufacturers’ own published specifications as read from their current listings.

Three things it is explicitly not:

Not product testing. We do not operate a testing lab and have not physically tested the products described. Our method is published so you can judge it for what it is.

Not safety certification. Nothing here certifies any product as safe. Products sold in the US are subject to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and ASTM F963, and compliance is the manufacturer’s and importer’s responsibility, not ours.

Not professional advice. It is consumer information. For questions about your child’s physical readiness for a particular vehicle, ask your pediatrician.

We take real care with figures — the whole point of the site is that the numbers should be right — and we still cannot guarantee them. Manufacturers change specifications without notice, listings are edited, and errors happen.

Always check the current listing and the product’s own manual before you buy and before you use it. Where the manufacturer and this site disagree, the manufacturer is authoritative.

Prices shown are taken from the retailer at the time of our last check and carry that date. They change constantly. Prices older than 48 hours are withdrawn automatically and replaced with “check price”. The price you pay is whatever the retailer charges when you arrive, and we are not party to that transaction.

If you find an error, tell us — we will correct it, and corrections propagate to every page the product appears on.

Powered ride-on toys carry real risks. Our safety guidance sets out what those are as honestly as we can, and on several pages we are more conservative than a manufacturer’s stated age range.

You are responsible for deciding whether a product is appropriate for your child, for following the manufacturer’s instructions and age and weight limits, for providing protective equipment, and for supervising use. Nothing on this site replaces any of that.

Check products against current CPSC recall notices before buying, particularly second-hand.
